MetaProp united its Portfolio Founders under one roof for the First Annual MetaProp Founders Summit, sponsored by PwC, in New York City on May 8-9. The summit fostered a deep sense of collaboration, providing a unique ground for meaningful connections and partnerships. 

To set the tone for an exceptional week, MetaProp kicked off the Summit with a lively welcome party at Swingers Crazy Golf Club. This gathering provided an opportunity for MetaProp's founders, partners, and sponsors to connect and build camaraderie, setting the stage for a collaborative week. 

The next day featured a full day of programming at PwC’s Headquarters covering a range of topics including data and security considerations, AI, Cybersecurity, Sustainability, M&A, Fundraising, Innovation in Architecture, and Real Estate Market Dynamics. 

The Founders Summit had an esteemed lineup of speakers who shared their expertise and ignited insightful discussions. Each speaker brought their unique perspectives and knowledge to the community, enriching the collective experience of the attendees.

🚀 Uber CISO, Latha Maripuri, led an engaging forum around data and security considerations for business development.

🔐 PwC Director of Deals, Lanie Potgieter, joined MetaProp Co-Founder and General Partner Zach Aarons for an insightful session on the dynamic landscape of M&A and fundraising within #PropTech.

🤖 PwC Generative AI Leader, Joe Harrington, joined MetaProp’s Founder-in-residence, Jeff Schacher, to explore the potential impact of intelligent virtual agents and immersive experiences on the real estate sector.

🔒 Building Cyber Security, Lucian Niemeyer, led important dialogue focused on the profound impact of cybersecurity in the Built World.

🖥️ Microsoft Global Director of Sustainability, Matt Hellman, led open discussions into innovative approaches to achieving sustainability in the built environment.

🏢 ShoP Architects Chief Officer Todd Sigaty led thought-provoking discussions on the role of innovation and technology in shaping the future of architecture and the built environment.

🏦 MetaProp Advisor Bob White delivered a captivating keynote discussion on the profound impact of data in defining real estate opportunities.

The day culminated with a PropTech hackathon, which had founders divided into six dynamic teams that each crafted innovative solutions to address a pressing pain point within real estate. The hackathon served as a platform for these exceptional minds to converge and pool their expertise, resulting in an array of innovative ideas and strategies spanning Permitting and Expediting, Skilled Labor, Offsite Construction, GHG Emission Tracking and Reduction, Data Infrastructure and Cybersecurity, and Affordable Housing.

Congrats to Brandon Wright and John Macris of Tongo, Natanael Von Euler of ATC Research, Adam Loewentheil of Aldoa, and Ben Waters of Bureau Braun for winning the PropTech Hackathon. This group won free tickets to MIPIM NY, a two-day event set to address all transformation levers of the fast-changing real estate industry from November 29-30 in NYC.
