About The Job
We are seeking a Director of Innovation Services who will report directly to MetaProp’s Partner in charge of Innovation Services. Innovation Services is MetaProp’s consultancy practice for its prestigious limited partner group of global owners, operators and developers of real estate. We are hands-on and “in the trenches” with this group of real estate’s most forward-thinking firms, supporting them throughout the entire innovation lifecycle with innovation strategy, technology selection and deployment, capital deployment, research and enrichment and helping them leverage the MetaProp ecosystem.
In this role, you will be responsible for helping drive business initiatives that will guide the evolution and growth of MetaProp’s consulting business as well as our industry partners’ innovation ecosystems.

You are a leader, strategic thinker and also a tremendous project manager who enjoys managing a wide array of initiatives across a multitude of innovation functions. You have experience working inside fast-growing companies with big ambitions and limited resources. At the same time, you understand what top institutional investors expect. You’re not afraid to be a “team of one” when needed and, at the same time, you can build a team to execute larger assignments. You are a fan of real estate, PropTech and the broader venture capital and finance worlds. Ideally, you come to MetaProp with a great network of real estate professionals, innovation leaders, and management consultants, that you can activate with a propensity to build trust with MetaProp’s most important relationships. You have terrific writing and communication skills. You are naturally collaborative while at the same time enjoying a lot of independent work. You love to learn. You love to win. Summary of Responsibilities:
Build an understanding of MetaProp’s limited partners’ priorities and draw on that knowledge to identify and recommend opportunities to deploy technology and human/financial capital.
Develop relationships with key client stakeholders and work with cross-functional internal and external teams to deliver on active initiatives. Utilize the design thinking process to facilitate work sessions and address requirements. Recommend solutions while working collaboratively to reach consensus.
Research and assess potential technologies and companies to help solve limited partner pain points. Make recommendations on the most appropriate solutions. Set agendas, schedule demos and pilots, provide follow up research.
Create bespoke thought leadership, research and presentations to meet limited partner requests and MetaProp’s innovation priorities.
Lecturing, presenting and teaching new concepts to internal and external audiences.
Direct Responsibilities
Delivery:
Direct engagement teams and allocate client-facing work within Innovation Services
Create market maps for priority technology themes using our own pipeline, primary and secondary research
Interview startups to assess commercial applicability for strategic limited partner requirements
Develop and maintain documentation including project plans, presentations, issues lists, meeting agendas/minutes, and action item trackers
Develop perspectives on the future of a particular proptech vertical (i.e.: future of Web3)
Lead startup showcases and demo days and assist limited partners with selection of technology to pilot and deploy
Prepare client-facing and internal deliverables
Building Innovation Services
Work closely with Partner to determine and execute strategic vision
Track and regularly report on BSC and key performance metrics
Maintain best practices library and standard operating procedures
Ensure cross company sharing of best practices and knowledge
Assist with recruiting and training future talent
Represent the firm at outside events, media, press
Innovation Services Operations
Lead preparation of quarterly investor portfolio reports
Build a detailed understanding of internal and external data sources and utilize that knowledge to provide recommendations for how to improve data flows, enhance processes, and improve internal systems.
Assist with due diligence on MetaProp investments, startup accelerators and platform support, investor support, research and other business activities

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 8 years of related experience with at least 3 years in a project management role related to technology, innovation and implementation. Experience with venture capital and fast growing startups is preferred.
Technologically curious and savvy with good understanding on how to evaluate new technologies and implement change
Demonstrated proficiency in executing agendas aligned with business strategy
Strong communicator with an ability to read a room, convey a message succinctly, and tell a story effectively
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Team player with an ability to build partnerships and influence across all levels of an organization
Desire to build a deep understanding of real estate and venture capital and learn all aspects of MetaProp’s operations
Enthusiasm, initiative, curiosity, and eagerness to learn
Self-starter with ability to manage a team and work independently while communicating frequently
New York region based is a plus
